Got a homework to do!! hEex!! here's the reflection of Job 1 and 2. i enjoy reading it. It's interesting..
It's about a guy named Job. He is an upright man.
In Job 1:5 When a period of feasting had run is course, Job would send and have them purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking, "perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." This was Job's regular custom.
After i read this verse, i was like wow~! He knew his children may have sinned against God. He is doing all these is to let God forgive his children. No matter what a good life he led, he will never forget God's gratefulness.
When God saw Satan... He will ask him, "where have you come from." and Satan will ans "From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it." hmm.. this is sth i dun understand. this ques and ans appeared twice in both chapters.. Why God would ask Satan tis ques?
Lord has faith in Job, he told Satan His servant Job fears God and shuns evil. hmm.. i think tis oso means tat Job resist temptations rite.. i remember my church leaders keep reminding us tat God DOES NOT test us. He allow temptations to be around us. It's just like tis verse..
Job 1:12 The Lord said to Satan,"Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger." and...
Job 2:6 The Lord said to Satan:" Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life."
This 2 verses had the same meaning.. He let Satan do what he wants. But God wants Satan to spare his life. He do want these tests to cost Job's life. In these 2 chapters, there are 2 tests for Job. and he passed the tests. God is glad =)
The 1st test is already very serious for Job. 4 messengers came to him. First told him tat his oxens ans donkeys were attacked and carried away by Sabeans. Second told him the fire of God burned up the sheeps and servants. Third told himthe Chaldeans took his camels away. last told him his sons and daughters are killed by a mighty wind.. But he did not blame God for taking away all these.. Yes! he is indeed very angry.. But his thinking was tat all these are given by the Lord, and now, He had taken them away. Job praised God =) isn't tis wonderful? he did not curse God but praised him. I believe after tis test, God loved Job even more.
Satan went to find God again and wanted to test Job. Satan afflicted sores from the soles of his feet to the top of his head. Job's wife wanted to curse God. but Job said sth which really touched me.
"Shall we accept good from God and not trouble?" yahx.. True enuff. We shld accept both. Whatever God gave us, we must be grateful. If we curse God just becos he gave us trouble, den we are selfish ppl. Dun u think so?.. Thankfully, Job had 3 friends who came to see him. when his friends saw him in agony, they did not said anything but just stayed beside him 7 days and 7 nights. These are very good friends lorx. no need to say anything, just stayed bside Job.
i really really enjoyed reading Job. it shows how he praise God instead of cursing. God gave him sheeps camels oxen donkeys servants sons and daughters. But He took them away. Though Job's wife told him to curse God, he said his wife is a foolish woman. Indeed, Job is in agony. but He still has a lot of faith in God. He is still grateful to God. He has peace in his heart. This really shows a good example of an upright man. like said in Job 1:3b He was the greatest man among the people of the East. The east lehx. A very BIG area of land. Among so SO many ppl, God recognize Job as the greatest man. Cool~ hA!! yUpx.. i oso agree to this verse lahx.
